Drum Roll Please...

A wise friend of mine once said that a vacation isn’t over until it has been blogged. Since I have been trying to pretend that I am still in NYC having the time of my life, I have postponed giving my vacation the final farewell post. Since now even my sister, who was even on the trip with me, is giving me crap about still not blogging about it, I have decided it is time to come back to real life and put my trip to its proper rest:

NYC – in a nutshell

Day 1:
Our flight landed at 6:14 am after the worst red-eye flight I have ever had. Note to self…don’t ever take a red-eye TO a vacation. Home is fine, but never to. After fighting our was through the subway with luggage and lack of sleep out big first day adventure was a much needed nap in my friends hotel. I know we are totally lame!

That night we went and saw Rent on Broadway.

This was my first Broadway play and I have to say it was amazing! I can’t believe some people are that talented. After the play we hung around and got our picture taken with a bunch of the cast members.

Day2:
First thing in the morning we went on a bike tour through Central Park. This was an awesome way to see all the different areas of the park. Lisa and I refused to take off our helmets for pictures for fear of what our hair would look like plus we look awesome in our helmets!

After that we met my friend Cathy for dinner at Stardust Diner. She planned her trip long after we had planned ours, and so as payment for crashing our vacation she treated us to lunch. Love that lady!

That night we took the subway out to Brooklyn and went to a Mets game. It was tons of fun being at a professional baseball game.

Day 3:
My old roommate is living in NYC while her husband is going to dental school and so she got us hook-ups to go to the Tyra show. It was a blast to see her and see the behind the scenes making of a TV show.

Our show was all about The Biggest Loser and the five finalists getting makeovers. After the show we even met Ali the winner of last season.

My other college roommate had just moved to NYC the week we got there for her husband to go to dental school as well, so we all hooked up for dinner. I loved living with these girls and it was a blast to see them.

Day 4:
This was a crazy day of trying to go see a bunch of stuff. We went to Soho to Heath Ledger's apartment, Sugar Sweet Sunshine to get the famous Pistachio Cupcake, China Town and Little Italy to get some great bargins, toured the 9.11 museum and walked around Ground Zero, and hung out at Battery Park before a downpour started.

That night Colby and I walked around Times Square and Rockefeller’s Plaza and then had dinner at a little pizza joint across the street from Serendipity.

Day 5:
We started our day off on a Movie and TV sites tour. This tour took us all over Manhatten and took us to famous TV and Movie hot spots. It was cool to be able to see so much of the city. You could really see how different all the areas were by seeing them one right after another.

Let me know if you can figure out where we are in these two pictures.

After our tour we window shopped at Tiffany’s and played in FAO Swartz.

One of my favorite things we did was the City Lights Twilight Cruise we went on that night. It was beautiful to see the light of the city from the river. The Statue of Liberty looked so cool with the sun setting behind it.

Our tour guide was so boring we had to intertain ourselves by taking lame pictures. This in only one of the hundreds!

Day 6:
We set off to go back to Battery Park and take the ferry boat out to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty but the line was forever long so Colby and I decided to head to the Met while Lisa and Brian went to the MOMA. The Met was awesome. It was HUGE and kind of overwhelming.

I loved seeing the paintings of one of my favorite artists, Edgar Degas, who paints ballet dancers.

That night was one of the highlights of the trips…the Wax Museum. We had way too much fun taking pictures of ourselves with famous people. I am sure I could do an entire post with pictures from this event but rather then emberess us all, I am just posting one.

Day 7:
I drug Colby all across the City so we could go get our picture in front of the Love sign.

We did some last minute shopping in China Town and had our last Italian Ice in Little Italy before heading to the airport.

We had an awesome time this trip. All we did was laugh and play for 7 days straight. Thanks Lees and Bri for the awesome memories and multiple alarms every morning!
